Naptime

Just got back from the doctor.  Riley is almost 17.5 lbs.  He is a little short for his age, but has a big cranium for his age as well.

Now he is sleeping on me after returning home after his shots.  Nothing is better than having your baby sleep on you... Except for their smile.

Rastamouse

So today we were looking for some alternatives to watching our television programs while Riley is awake.  So we were looking for music, musicals and childrens programming on netflix.  We stumbled upon Rastamouse....we are currently watching it and I do not know what to say about it yet...not sure if I can turn it off.

End of Daycare

With the coming of the weekend, we have reached the end of our use of Daycare.  From this point onward, Nic will be taking care of Riley while I go to work.

That is pretty much the only new news, Riley has been amazing, he is mostly over being sick, he has some congestion left.  Nic and I are over our separate sicknesses as well.

First Giggles

A few moments prior to this time, Riley giggles for the first time.

Worried

Riley had come down with the Daycare Drip about a week and a half ago.  Since then he has been congested and snotty.  On Thursday he was taken to the doctor by Nic and her Mother because he had goopy eyes and green snot.  The doc had diagnosed him with an ear infection and prescribed amoxocilin.  This had not worried me to much, as I had a great many ear infections when I was a child.
Yesterday morning, however, he threw up twice.  We called Nic's mom to come and stay with him during the day.  He vomited twice more while Nic's mom was here, but the last time had been at 9:30am.  We got home and he was a little bit fussy, but hadn't vomited in 6 hours.  Then he vomited more, on me, on Nic...he hasn't kept anything down all through the night.  We will be going to the doctor again at 8:30am.

Sorry for an un-concluded post, but I needed to tell it so I could not be keeping all that worry inside of me.  Please pray/cross fingers/send well wishes to/for my son.  I will post or edit this post after the doc visit to tell what else is going on.

Edit:  So the doctor visit was really a nurses visit.  We were told to give him tiny amounts of fluid every few minutes, essentially dripping moisture into him.  We did this for the past near 12 hours, but it got to be to much for Riley and we disobeyed recently and let him nurse for a short amount of time.  He seems to be happier, which relieves us tremendously.

Two week lapse

It has been a while since I posted last.  A fair bit has gone on.  Both Nic and I have gone back to work.  Nic is doing both jobs at the moment.

Two Thursdays ago, I drive her to the second job and decided to stay in the area, grab a few portals for an augmented reality game I play called Ingress and then hang out at Barnes and Noble.

Riley slept through most of it, until part way through the Barnes and Noble trip.  While there he woke up and wanted a changed diaper and a bottle.  I typically like to do it on that order, to make sure that there are no  structural integrity issues with the diaper.  I walk in to the men's bathroom and there is someone in the stall that had the changing table.  Riley is yelling his head off, I step out of the bathroom and wait.  Twenty minutes later the guy comes out, skinny with no obvious disabilities and he spent at least twenty minutes in the handicap stall.  I was furious to say the least.  That was a hard night, but I did find out that Riley likes cobble stone streets.

That was the only real hardship of the past two weeks.  Riley really is an angel, even when it takes me a while to find out what he wants.  He seems to enjoy daycare, and is all smiles when we go pick him up.  He is eating a lot and popping in amounts that seem almost grown up in proportion.
